The inspiration behind this work is Goya's gaze in "Saturn Devouring His Son". As if done of purpose, this is my father. Unlike Saint Christopher, the giant is not the one helping the children cross the waters anymore, neither the prophet elevating the view of the children that we are, instead it's a cannibal ogre, a terrifying urväter. We are the product of revolution decline, folly devouring its kids, of fathers' madness that do not let men discover the tradition's vigor, but the brute violence destined to burn the past to the ground and drag men, in the name of a happy ending, to a catastrophy. They are the new guardians of the threshold we need to cross. Trascend.
